21 September 2021           GOOGLE LIKES IT

The Old Schoolhouse Cafe - Rostrevor, Ireland

During my visit to Banbridge for Joseph Scrivens  100th Birthday celebration a couple of years ago....my lovely hosts took me to the town of Rostrevor where we ate at a lovely restaurant.

This used to be an actual schoolhouse and now converted into this charming restaurant.  The food was so good, I wish I lived nearer to get there every day.

Now after my trip I shared  these pictures on and  some nice comments on Google - I just googled the schoolhouse and when it comes up on the right side of the page there is a place to make comments.  Well I did and this is what google emailed to me 30 August 2021 !   I never expected my little pictures & comments to be so big - It blows me away.

So if you've been somewhere and took a few pictures. Google it and have fun leaving copies and a few remarks.

FC reply to your question about Elizabeth Scriven Evans/ Crawford

14 September 2021

Hi FC,

I have discovered that when I am off the blog for a bit, it's tricky for me to be let back in.  But I persevere.  & unfortunately I have no way to contact someone when they leave a question.  If they don't come back and look for an answer - & if I am slow to reply I have no way to reach them other than just doing a post like this.  Unless someone knows how to do it on this blog site? Let me know please.

"The Origin and Stem of the Irish Nation VOL 2"

by JOHN O'Hart   1892

How on Earth anyone could write a book as complicated as this and full of data is beyond me.  & that he did more than 1 volumne is astounding to me.

This book is a treasure chest for a genealogy searcher.

Page 141 of this book is in the section documenting CRAWFORD. & is full of so many of them.  Page 141 on the bottom has a great paragraph that ties in Scriven to  Elizabeth's  2nd marriage to Alexander Fitzgerald Crawford.  I really should put a copy the page here and a pic of the book but I want to post this soonest for FC.

If I can return and add those to this post I will.

I think anymore I could write would be confusing.

Best Wishes   Katie
